When answering machines were first introduced it was not uncommon for many individuals to simply hang up and vow never to do business with a company that would be so impersonal as to relegate their concerns to a recording device.
Today even the operator is an antiquated notion in some business as an automated voicing system guides you to the appropriate party to ask a question or voice a concern (even then you can expect to leave a message).
With online business it is possible to conduct business with clients who will never hear your voice. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in hearing from you.

You know that having a double opt-in* process for your newsletter/ezine list is a “best practice” in permission based email marketing. Several reasons:
- less chance of being called a spammer by someone who doesn’t remember filling in the form (or because someone else filled out the form with their email address);
- fewer bad email addresses in your list;
- some mailing list delivery services require it!
BUT–sometimes your subscribers don’t click that link they receive from you in the confirmation email. And so you lose 10, 20, even 50% of your “subscribers”. Arghh!

You just need to get people to see what you are selling through your emails before your message gets flushed down the drain without even being read. This can be achieved with a little targeted email marketing. With targeted email marketing, your message is sent to the people who are most likely to not only read your email marketing messages but they may even end up purchasing from you.

Bulk email campaigns can be used in internet marketing to drive traffic to your website that you would not otherwise have had. They can also be used to help build up your personal emailing list.
There are two major forms of bulk email campaign: those in which the email is distributed to your own list, and those distributed by a third party to email list of their own. The latter can be either a subscription service, or each emailing paid for individually, and it these that we shall look at here. Bulk emailing to your own list is another topic, and is fundamental to internet marketing success. However, it can take time to build up a decent seized list, and many feel the need to pay for email campaigns until their own list is big enough to be profitable.

There are only two things you must do to achieve incredible success as an Internet marketer.
You must get people to view your offer and you must give them a reason to go from being merely a prospect to being your customer.
Getting people to view your offer, whether via email, on a website, or offline advertising, such as on radio or television or in print ads, is called Traffic.
Getting them to go from being a prospect to being your customer is called Conversion. If you master Traffic and Conversion, there is no limit to the success you can achieve. The key to your success will be developing your ability to get total strangers to know, like, and trust you.
