My beloved grandmother was content to sit on a porch for hours engaged in storytelling, while I struggled to remain still long enough to listen. Deeply aware of the special gift of her healthy and vibrant presence in my life, I promised myself to spend more time with her, listen more attentively, and put my own agenda aside in order to enjoy her company. Caught up in the rhythm of daily life and the intricacies of my youthful self-absorption, romantic woes, building a business and searching for Mr. Right, the years flew by and grandma’s body began to break down. I now find myself missing her hugs, her unconditional adoration and the sound of her laughter with a longing that stings my soul.

Its no illusion living in a youth orientated culture is tough! And, it takes no magic eye to see being a senior can be challenging.
Consider the following life changes, at least several of which confront every senior.

Many people look forward to the period of their lives when they will be free from the demands of the clock and the commute. As the world grows increasingly smaller and more uniform in its styles, fashions, and behaviors, it seems that humanity is undergoing a backlash of sorts; seeking desperately to distinguish and differentiate themselves from an avalanche of “sameness” from among peers and colleagues. It might be a YouTube video of someone acting or saying out a comic routine that imprints that person as unique. Or, it could be a new slogan for a company that says, “We are different; not like the rest.” Again, as an example, we see the race to come up with that special resume that looks unlike all the mass of paperwork vying for a place on top of the personnel coordinator’s desk. It seems that in all areas, we feel increasingly “grouped” and “labeled” toward a certain “camp”; something we naturally resist and desire to move away from. We want to be special; unique; exclusive; “the one and only.”

It is important for all married people to be able to detect the signs of infidelity in their spouse. It is more difficult to catch cheating women red handed, than catching cheating men because women are very cautious by nature and tend to leave behind no signs of their infidelity. If at all a husband confronts his wife (with or without conclusive proof) she will first shed tears to drown her husband and as if this was not enough, she will pour out a stream of lies (such as this is my friend, almost like my brother, blah, blah, blah) which is enough to make her husband remorseful and force him to regret and apologize to her for ‘daring to misjudge her chastity’.

Making a family tree requires that you study and trace your family pedigree. You will be required to collect names of family members, living and deceased, connecting with relatives who are primary, secondary or related by circumstantial evidence thus allowing you to build a cohesive family tree. It requires calls, documentation of information retrieved, tracking leads and general detective work about people that are mentioned in passing.

The Fairly Odd Parents is a cartoon show on the Cartoon Network. It’s a bit campy and zany, but kids love its concept. It’s all about a boy who gets his own set of Fairly Odd Parents to grant his wishes and make him happy.
The Fairly Odd Parents party menu should include some fairly odd foods. You’ll find that the most magical flavors are usually the easiest to put together. The kids will love some light green and purple taffy, just warn them ahead of time not to take a real big bite of the taffy or their teeth are likely to get stuck together! Also some Popcorn balls are always tasty and fun to make. You can turn the creation of these treats into a fun activity while you are having the party. The kids can also appreciate a stuffed crust pizza to munch on, featuring all of their favorite toppings.
